Lakewood does not present as a master-planned subdivision with internal club facilities. Its appeal is access. Goat Island Park is the neighborhood’s recurring reference point, and listings repeatedly highlight its playgrounds, dog park, disc golf, river access, fishing, and kayaking. The River Link Greenway and Carolina Thread Trail are also regular parts of the conversation, giving residents convenient connections for walking, running, and cycling.

That access pattern extends to outdoor living at home. Back decks, patios, screened porches, and fenced yards show up again and again, often paired with wooded edges or cul-de-sac lots that add more breathing room than many newer neighborhoods. Pools are uncommon in the MLS record, but several homes use larger backyards for workshop space, garden areas, or detached storage.
