Community Highlights
Most properties in Outer Banks are oriented to the shoreline. Waterfront homes and lots make up the clear majority of the community, and dock access is a recurring hallmark, with covered docks, boat lifts, and double-decker dock setups appearing throughout the neighborhood. Point lots and deep-water sites are part of the area's strongest value story, especially where broad shoreline frontage and open lake views come together. Lot sizes are generous for a lake community, averaging about 0.78 acres, and several homes sit on lots large enough to create a more private, tucked-into-the-landscape setting.
The housing stock leans toward rustic and custom lake-house design rather than one repeated builder plan. Most of the dated homes were built from 2000 through 2018, and open living areas, vaulted or cathedral ceilings, stone fireplaces, expansive decks, walkout lower levels, and wood or pine interior finishes show up again and again. Basements are common here, appearing in roughly three-fifths of listings, while garages appear in just under half.
